This is a thing I saw when I was walking the path to the River of Souls (that’s a literal translation of the name, dramatic right) in Pirenópolis (the city/village I was staying in).
After A LOT of searching, I think I was able to identify this caterpillar as hymenopteran Perreyia - they are actually sawfly larva. You can find someone else posting about them here.
